I interned with Lindsay Hanewich Photography and Design at the Indiana State Fair in August of 2021. I am already on staff with Legacy Livestock Imaging, but I wanted to experience a new state fair with a different livestock photography company, in order to build my network and learn more about livestock photography. The Indiana State Fair truly has some of the best livestock in the country and interning there was a cool experience. As an intern, I mostly grabbed photographs in the show ring. I learned more about shooting all species of livestock, specifically pigs and cattle. I also learned more about the value of good communication--we do not want to overshoot something or miss something due to miscommunication. Every time I shoot a show, I am reminded of the value of teamwork. I also culled and edited large groups of photographs using Adobe Lightroom Classic within a short amount of time. One of my favorite parts of my internship was shooting portrait mini-sessions with Lindsay, and being able to learn from her one-on-one.
