I have my associate degree in agriculture from Hutchinson Community College. At HutchCC, I was involved in several student-ran organizations--but Dragon's Tale was one of my favorites. Dragon's Tale is the student magazine at HutchCC, made by students for students. Dragon's Tale printed two issues each semester. I joined the staff as an incoming freshman in the fall of 2018, and I stayed on staff until I graduated in May 2020. I was also publication editor my sophomore year, and as publication editor, I did a lot of copy editing and proofreading stories. I credit part of my diverse portfolio to Dragon's Tale; I was able to write articles and take photographs of sports, events and people outside of agriculture. I was able to create a foundation for the rest of my college career, making me a better agricultural communicator. I learned about a broad range of topics while I was a member of the Dragon's Tale staff. I improved my writing skills, collaborated with a team to produce magazine spreads, and I further cultivated my AP style knowledge and familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud.
